MILLINOCKET – Isabelle M. Burrell, 92, wife of the late George S. Burrell, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, at a Millinocket health care facility. She was born Nov. 24, 1915, in New Brunswick, the daughter of John and Ella (Manzer) Moffitt. Isabelle was a member of Millinocket Baptist Church, where she was active with the Mission Society and the “Busy Bees.” She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and cooking. For many years, Isabelle tended large gardens in her yard and gave her neighbors many of the vegetables she grew. Isabelle also enjoyed canning her vegetables and making jams and jellies. She was an old fashioned homemaker. Isabelle is survived by three children, Gilbert Burrell and his wife, Dawn, Charlotte Harmon and her husband, John, all of Millinocket and David Burrell and his wife, Lynn, of Groton, Conn.; three sisters, Vesta Levesque of Millinocket, Harriett Garret of New Brunswick and Edith Lowery of New Brunswick; three brothers, Earl, Alvin and Stanley Moffitt, all of New Brunswick; six grandchildren, Evelyn Burrell, Carolyn Kyle and family, Karen Oliver, Nancy Evers and Mark and family, Jeffrey Burrell and family, and Mat Burrell; several great-grand-children, nieces, nephews and cousins. Isabelle will also be missed by her friends and caregivers at Katahdin Nursing Home. In addition to her husband, Isabelle was predeceased by three brothers, Ray, Robert and James Moffitt. Friends are invited to visit with the family 1-2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, with funeral services beginning 2 p.m. with the Rev. Basil Lowery officiating. Spring interment will be at Millinocket Cemetery. Gifts in memory of Isabelle may be sent to Katahdin Area Support Group, 10 Field St., Millinocket, ME 04462.
