EAST BLUE HILL – Isabelle M. Candage, 96, died peacefully April 27, 2006, at the Blue Hill Memorial Hospital. She was born Jan. 15, 1910, in East Blue Hill, the daughter of Edwin E. and Carrie Belle (Long) Conary. Isabelle graduated from the Rhode Island Hospital School of Nursing in Providence, R.I., worked at Blue Hill Memorial Hospital for many years, and also did private duty nursing. She was a member of the former Grange No. 252 of East Blue Hill as well as being a 50-year member of the East Blue Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling, knitting, embroidering and gardening. She is survived by three sons, Arthur and his wife, Betty, of Groveland, Mass., Bruce and his wife, Rena, Darryl and his wife, Muriel, of East Blue Hill; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, with a seventh expected in June; brother-in-law, Arthur Candage; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Colby A. Candage. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, May 1, at the East Blue Hill Village Church. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery, Blue Hill. Those who desire, may make contributions in Isabelle’s memory to the East Blue Hill Village Church, P.O.
