AUGUSTA – Lucile M. Baird, 88, died Thursday, April 27, 2006, at the Maine Veterans’ Home in Augusta. She was born Jan. 27, 1918, in Rome, the daughter of Bertram and Irma (Richardson) Mosher Sr. She graduated from Williams High School, Oakland in 1935, attended Harrisonburg Teachers College in Virginia, graduated from Wilfred Academy in Boston, in 1937, and Gates Business College, Augusta in 1939. She was employed at Depositors Trust Co. in Augusta, Central Maine General Hospital in Lewiston, and Benson and Sullivan in Auburn, retiring as office manager in 1979. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Edwin Baird; one brother, Bertram Mosher Jr.; and two sisters, Laura Mickewich and Ruth Creswell. Survivors include two sons, Michael Robert Baird and wife, Colleen, of Mechanic Falls and Stuart James Baird and wife, Terri, of Los Angeles, Calif.; two daughters, Sandra Nason and husband, Wayne, of Belgrade, and Judith Roach and husband, Eric, of Sidney; a sister, Virginia Mosher of Waterville; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, May 1, at Wheeler Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Oakland, where a funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 2. Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery in Belgrade.
