PRINCETON – J. Irene Kadey, 88, wife of the late Hazen W. Kadey, died April 5, 2005, at a Calais nursing home. She was born Nov. 27, 1916, in Princeton, the daughter of the late Merle and Ethel (Hayward) Crockett. Irene made her home in Princeton her entire life while working many years for the W. T. Grant Company, Calais. She was a lifelong member of the Advent Christian Church and Big Lake Camp meeting in Dixie. She was also a member of the Sunshine Circle of the Princeton Congregational Church. Irene made good cookies – and you didn’t have any trouble understanding how she felt about things! “Mom” will be deeply missed and always remembered by her loving family. She is survived by one son, Dana Kadey and his wife, Mary Jo, of Township 21; one daughter, Jane Sanderson and her husband, Robert, of Southwest Harbor; three grandsons, Scott Kadey of Groton, Conn., Troy Cilley and his wife, Renee, of Princeton, Ryan Cilley of Waterville; one great-grandson, Ryley Cilley of Princeton; one sister-in-law, Helen Watson; and one brother-in-law, Harry Branscomb of Chipman, New Brunswick, also many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at the Princeton Congregational Church.
