JACOB ‘JAKE’ ADLER HOULTON – Jacob “Jake” Adler, 90, passed away March 7, 2008, at a local health care facility. He was born June 27, 1917, in Houlton, the son of Harry and Rose (LeVina) Adler. Jake attended Houlton schools. He served in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II. After his tour of duty, he came back to Houlton and owned and operated the Mobil station in Paddy Holler, until his retirement. Jake is survived by his brother, Alfred Adler of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; a niece, Elizabeth “Betty” (Adler) Crawford and her husband, James, of Houlton; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and many friends at Houlton Fire and Ambulance Station. He was predeceased by his parents; sisters, Elizabeth, Esther and Sarah; and brothers, Max and Philip. Friends may call 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral 1 p.m. Monday at Dunn Funeral Home with the Rev. Leslie Nesin officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in the spring.
