CALAIS – Jacqueline B. Dorie, 69, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2007, at her home. Jacqueline was born Sept. 21, 1938, in Richford, Vt., daughter of the late Henry and Eliza (Morse) Briar. She married Metavio Dorie, Aug. 2, 1976, in Baileyville. Jacqueline was a member of Calais United Methodist Church, was a member of the Women’s Club and served as secretary and co-coordinator with the food pantry for the church. She was a former helper with St. Vincent DePaul Society, Water-bury, Conn. Jacqueline volunteered with the Irene Chadbourne Ecumenical Food Pantry and enjoyed playing cards, cooking and knitting. Surviving are her husband of more than 31 years, Metavio Dorie; three sisters, Betty Briar of Florida, Jeannette Rounds of Vermont, and Janet Delbon and her husband, Victor, of Connecticut; a sister-in-law, Irene Latko and her husband, Carl, of Connecticut; many nieces, nephews; and special friends, Dwight and Janice Ferry of Charlotte and George and Gayeth Stickles of Connecticut. A celebration of Jacqueline’s life will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at Calais United Methodist Church. Burial will be held in Chepachet, R.I., at a later date. Please omit flowers and cards.
