BELFAST – Jacqueline Rosmund Sweeny, 83, passed away March 23, 2005, at a Belfast health care facility. She was born May 29, 1921, in Boston, Mass., the daughter of William H. and Beatrice A. (Pipes) Sweeny. She worked as a medical technologist for many years until her retirement from Harvard University Health Care Systems in 1987. She moved to Maine after retirement and was active in a number of charitable and volunteer organizations. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Women’s Club and was an avid beano player. She will be missed by her large extended family and her many dear friends. She is survived by one sister, Barbara Williams of Colorado; nieces, Lois Hall and Robert Hooper of Morrill, Deborah and Robert Duston of Massachusetts, Jacqueline and Raymond Franson of Missouri, Leah Foster and Norma Binan of Hampden, Marie and Roger Dow of Newport, Barbara Dolliver of Etna; nephews, Jeffrey Hollingsworth of Washington, D.C., David and Kathleen Asdorian of Virginia, Marty and Lori Asdorian of Texas, Don and Carla Williams, and John and Peggy Williams all of Colorado, Arthur, Charles, and Joanne Luongo of Massachusetts, Ernest and Suzanne Luongo of Florida, Charles and Alison Gould of Hampden, Reginald and Oriella Gould of Scarborough, many great and great-great nieces and nephews, a special great-niece, Jessica Hall of Searsport, and great-great nephew, Alex Hooper of Searsport. She was predeceased by her parents; four sisters, Ruth Gould, Elizabeth Asdorian, Margaret Luongo, and Beatrice Hollingsworth; one brother, William Sweeny. The family will hold a private memorial service in the spring.
