JAMES E. HODDE JR. WASHBURN and CARIBOU -James E. Hodde Jr. 55, died Dec. 31, 2003 at Presque Isle, following a long illness. He was born in Pawtucket R.I., May 25, 1948, the son of James and Louise (Marchand) Hodde Sr. Jim was a graduate of the Pawtucket Vocational School and served with the U.S. Air Force from 1968- 1976. In 1979 he went to work with the Civil Service at Loring Air Force Base. During his career with Civil Service, he worked at Base Operations, Roads and Grounds, as well as the Central Heat Plant. He married Carol Brown Hodde, May 3, 1969. Jim was active in scouting, serving as scoutmaster of Pack 162 for a number of years. He was a member of the Washburn CB Club, the Caribou Search and Rescue and was a former member of the Lister Knowlton Post No. 9389 VFW. Jim attended the Dunntown Advent Christian Church. Surviving, in addition to his wife of Washburn, are one son, James K. Hodde of Presque Isle and one daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Stacey Skinner of Caribou; one brother, Thomas Hodde of Cumberland, R.I. and one sister, Sharon Boronwick of Warwick, R.I.; two grandchildren, Taylor and Aaron Skinner; his mother-in-law, Irene Brown of Washburn; one niece and two nephews. Friends may visit with the family from 2-4 p.m. Monday Jan. 5, 2004, at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Memorial services will be held 4 p.m. Monday from the Chapel of the Mockler Funeral Home with the Rev. George McLaughlin, officiating.
