LAURA A. HALL MACHIAS – Our beloved mother, Laura A. Hall, died Dec. 30, 2003, at a Machias health-care facility. She was born Feb. 22, 1916, at Machias, the daughter of William A. and Lena (Blyther) Preston. She was the wife of Charles C. Hall, who predeceased her in 1995. She was adored by her children and families. She leaves one daughter, Ava C. Dowler and husband, Clay, of Cedar Falls, Iowa; two sons, Duane A. Hall and fianc?e, Dianne Wood, of Phoenix, Ariz., Clayton L. Hall and wife, Merrilyn, of Machias; a daughter-in-law, Gwen Hall of Port Lavaca, Texas; two sisters, Thelma Dennison of East Machias and Evelyn Conlin and husband, Walter, of Marshfield; one brother, Stephen Preston of Portland; grandchildren, Beth Beatty and husband, Robert, of Dublin, Ohio; Melanie King and husband, Jeffrey, of Bangor, Kathleen Hall of Columbus, Ohio, Deborah Stauffer of Machias, Gidget Hall and husband, Steve Petty, of Town and Country, Mo., Michael Hall and wife, Jennifer, of Point Comfort, Texas, Lloyd Hall and wife, Melissa, of Port Lavaca, Texas, Jonathan Dowler and wife, Anita, of Waterloo, Iowa, LaurieLynn Davis and husband, Kent, of Cedar Falls, Iowa; 17 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; and special family member, Lynn Bodman-Hall of Phoenix, Ariz. In addition to her husband, Laura was predeceased by a son, Gaylon D. Hall; infant daughter, Beth Marlene Hall; one brother, William Preston, Jr.; infant brother, Bertrum and Philip Preston; three sisters, Violet Hudson, Olive Davis, and Madeline Cunningham. Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, at the Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Machias, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan 3, with Elder John Woodman officiating. Interment will follow in West Kennebec Cemetery.
