JAMES E. RICHARDSON BAR HARBOR – James E. Richardson, 79, died May 12, 2007, at a Bar Harbor health care facility. He was born May 19, 1927, in Southwest Harbor, the son of Hollis and Josephine (Holmes) Richardson. James attended the Southwest Harbor schools. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force, stationed in Italy and held the rank of corporal; before his discharge he was recommended for further military training. Instead, he returned to Southwest Harbor to live and take care of his mother. He married Adelma E. McFarland of Bar Harbor, Aug. 19, 1961, and built their dream home shortly after. Through Jim’s lifetime he worked at the Southwest Harbor Motor Co., Jackson Laboratory, Morrison Chev-rolet, and during early retirement, at Don’s Shop n’ Save. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Adelma; one brother, Harold Richardson; and a sister, Frances MacMillan. Episcopal funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, at Jordan-Fernald, 48 Eden St., Bar Harbor, with the Rev. Jonathan Appleyard officiating. Interment will be at his and Adelma’s lot at Ledgelawn Cemetery, Bar Harbor. Friends may make contributions in Jim’s memory to the charity of their choice.
