BROWNVILLE JUNCTION – James H. McGrath, 98, husband of the late Edith (Stevens) McGrath, died Jan. 3, 2006, at a Dover-Foxcroft nursing home. He was born Oct. 16, 1907, in Williamsburg, the son of William and Gertrude (Rolfe) McGrath. Mr. McGrath served with the U.S. Army during World War II and was employed by the Canadian Pacific Railroad for many years as a car inspector. He was a member of the Bernard Jones American Legion Post No. 92 and St. Francis and St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Milo. He is survived by a son, Daniel J. McGrath and his wife, Dawne, of Gardiner; a daughter, Florence Russo and her husband, Gerard, of Sebago; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Francis; and five sisters, Celestia Tukey, Ellen Whitten, Julia Bemis, Jane Jenkins and Margaret Bartlett. Friends are invited to call 2-4 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 8, at the Lary Funeral Home, Milo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9, at St. Francis Xavier and Paul the Apostle Parish in Milo, with Fr. James Robichaud, celebrant. Spring burial will be in the family lot in Pinetree Cemetery.
