BUCKSPORT – Nora F. (Clement) Bell, 86, died Jan. 2, 2006, after a long illness, at Bucksport. She was born April 17, 1919, in East Orrington, to Fred Levi and Beulah Burr (Bennett) Clement. She was a graduate of Bucksport High School in 1938, and the Maine School of Commerce (Husson College) in 1939. She worked at the Merrill Trust Bank before her marriage to Grenville S. Bell Dec. 23, 1940. Nora was a lifelong member of the Franklin Street United Methodist Church, Bucksport. She was a Girl Scout leader for many years. Nora was a member of Rebekah Lodges in Bucksport and Orrington. Before her illness she enjoyed traveling, reading and was an avid quilter. Nora enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Grenville S. Bell of Bucksport; her daughters, Bonnie B. Harvey of Verona Island and Ruth L. Bell of Bucksport; her son, Pastor Thomas Bell and his wife, Carol Lee, of Blodgett Mills, N.Y. She leaves nine grandchildren, Holly Pelletier of Verona Island, Thomas Harvey of Vinalhaven, Dane Harvey of Bucksport, Heather Hassapelis of Stockton Springs, Hayley Smith and Brendan Harvey of Bucksport, Jenny Gibbons of West Linn, Ore., Brian Bell of New York, N.Y. and Nathan Bell of Washington, D.C. Nora had 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. She had many nieces and nephews including two special nieces, Virginia Dow and Bertha Coleman of Bucksport. In addition to her parents, Nora was predeceased by two brothers and their wives, Maynard and Laura Clement and Dexter and Irma Clement; a great-granddaughter, Tasha Grace Maguire. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, at the Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport, with Pastor Janice L. Rhenow, officiating.
