ORLAND and EDDINGTON -James H. Whidden Jr., 69, died May 10, 2006, at a Bangor health facility. He was born March 6, 1937, in Bangor, son of James H. and Violet M. (Johnson) Whidden Sr. Jim was a graduate of Brewer High School in 1955, Husson College in 1958, Northern Conservatory of Music in 1965, and University of Kentucky in 1971. He was a choir director and soloist for many Bangor area churches, most recently All Souls Congregational Church, Bangor. Jim is survived by a nephew, Daniel Jones of Holden; a niece, Linda Jenkins of Brewer; several great-nieces and great-nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Joyce Jones; a niece, Joanne Cushman. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 12, 2006, at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport with Pastor Peter Remick officiating. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be in Pine Tree Cemetery, East Eddington. Donations in his memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
