JAMES LEANDER REYNOLDS BROOKSVILLE – James Leander Reynolds passed away Sunday, April 6, 2008, at Island Nursing Home, Deer Isle. He was born April 27, 1923, in Jonesboro, the son of Ralph and Felice Drisko Reynolds. A resident of Brooksville from early childhood, he graduated from Brooksville High School in 1941. He served proudly in the U.S. Army during World War II, on the European front. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him for his wonderful sense of humor and his readiness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He loved cars and enjoyed working on them as well as driving them. He was often seen under the hood of a car. James was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Lillian; a son, James Jr.; a grandson, Richard Allen; a great-grand-son, Ryan Scott Worcester; and two brothers, Daniel and Robert. James is survived by two daughters, Alberta Reynolds of Alabama and Norma Reynolds Allen of Winterport; three sons and their wives, Ralph and Debbie of Georgia, Robert and Robin of Winterport and Harold and Debra of Brooksville. James and Lillian were proud grandparents of 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grand-children and five great-great-grandchildren. James is survived, as well, by his sisters, Annie Wildes and Polly Latham and her husband, Eddie; several nieces, nephews and cousins. His family would like to thank the staff at Island Nursing Home, Dr. Babbitt, and a special thank you to Ross and Lucille Rankin, who checked on James daily. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at Edgewood Cemetery, Brooksville. The family invites you to join them in a celebration of James’ life at the Brooksville Municipal building after the service.
