JAMES A. PEARSON BANGOR and BRITISH, COLUMBIA – James A. Pearson, 74, died July 12, 2004, at a Bangor Hospital. He was born Feb. 17, 1930, in Kimberly, British Columbia, the son of James and Anne Pearson Jr. Jim spent his entire working life in the mining industry as a geologist. He loved playing golf, especially with his best friend, Paul LaPierre. Jim also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and his dog “Coco.” He was a great trumpet player who loved music and played in a Big Band throughout British Columbia. Surviving are two sons, Christopher Pearson and his wife, Patsy, of Hampden, and Rick Pearson and his wife, Debbie, of Parksville, British Columbia; his long-time companion, Kaye Floyd of Bangor; stepdaughter, Kimberly Floyd of Bangor; three grandchildren, Kennedy Floyd, Alicia Pearson and Danne Pearson; brother, Howard “Howie” Pearson and his wife, Sheila; nieces and nephews, Terry, Keith, Bruce, Sandra, Scott and Christie. Services will be private for the family. Memorial contributions in Jim’s memory may be made to the James A. Pearson memorial fund to provide underprivileged children with musical instruments, care of Chris Pearson, 1 Frances Drive, Hampden, ME 04444.
