CANAAN – James Russell Soctomah, 62, passed away Feb. 5, 2005, at Maine Medical Center. He was born March 22, 1942, the son of Noel Soctomah and Mary-Jane (Sappier). He was a member of the Passamaquody Tribe. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, loved the outdoors and gardening. He was a foreman supervisor for Driscoll Builders. He is survived by his children, Bethany and her husband, Dennis Tomah Jr., Leah Soctomah, Malegan Soctomah and James Soctomah Jr.; his sister, Evelyn and her husband, Mike Driscoll; brothers, Leo, Wendall, and Gerald Soctomah; numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anne’s Church, Peter Dana Point.
