BRIDGEWATER James W. Finnemore, 77, loving and faithful husband and father has finished his earthly journey and has walked through the valley of the shadow of death into the glory of Heaven. He did not walk alone. His passage into the presence of his Lord took place Dec. 11, 2005, at a local hospital. He was born Dec. 31, 1927, in Bridgewater, the son of James W. and Clara (Gordon) Finnemore. He was a longtime member of the Bridgewater Full Gospel Assembly and most recently attended the Full Gospel Assembly of Mars Hill. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force as a M.P. He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Audrey (Dearborn) Finnemore of Bridgewater. He always joked that he wouldn’t trade her for a good pair of mules. He also leaves sons; Dennis Finnemore of Mapleton, Danny Finnemore and James Finnemore Jr. and his friend, Patti Kinney, of Bridgewater; granddaughters, Kim and her husband, Matt Garrett, of Bridgewater, Amy and her husband, Mark Logan, of Limestone, Kelly Finnemore of Houston, Texas, Chris and Emily Finnemore of New Windsor, N.Y.; great-grandchildren, Shyanna Smith and Zion Garrett of Bridgewater; a brother, Earl Finnemore of Winston-Salem, NC; several nieces and nephews and someone who was as close as a natural daughter to him, Suzzanne Stickney. He will also be sadly missed by his pet cat, “Little Girl.” He was predeceased by his father, James Finnemore; stepfather, Joe Kinney; mother, Clara DeLong; sister, Janet Dyer; and stepbrother, Jimmy Kinney. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, at Duncan Funeral Home, 8 Main St., Mars Hill. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, at the Full Gospel Assembly in Mars Hill with the Rev. Richard Bell officiating. Interment will take place following the service at Smith Cemetery, Bridgewater.
