CALAIS – Mildred Ella Crosby, 84, died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2005, at a Calais hospital. Mildred was born Oct. 5, 1921, at Lambert Lake, daughter of the late Ernest and Birdie (Spaulding) Stover Sr. She worked as a certified nurse’s assistant for many years at Calais Regional Hospital and Atlantic Rehab. Mildred was a member of the First Baptist Church in Milltown and enjoyed Beano and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Sterling; three daughters, June, Geraldine and Ilene; a son, Billy; four sisters, Viola Trask, Rose Nason, Lois Hodgdon and Shirley Wright; and a brother, Ernest “Buddy” Stover Jr. Loving mother of one son, Wayne Crosby Sr. and wife, Connie, of Calais; one daughter, Rosemarie Hamilton and husband, Michael, of Princeton; two sisters, Elva Abbott of Old Orchard Beach and Ella Devoe of Lambert Lake; grandmother of Wayne Crosby Jr. and wife, Itaya, of Washington, Tami Clark and husband, Steven, of Alexander, Adam Northcutt and wife, Tabitha, of Kentucky, Michelle Crosby of Rockland, and Lori Crosby of St. Stephen, N.B.; great-grandchildren Sarah, Emily, Brice and Tristan; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call noon-1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 14, at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais, at which time a funeral service will be held with Pastor Bob Hinton officiating.
