SOUTH BROOKSVILLE – James Wallace Gibson Jr., 76, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005, at the VA Hospital in West Roxbury, Mass. He was born Dec. 2, 1928, in Boston, Mass. to James and Lucy Cheney Gibson. He was a long time summer resident of South Brooksville. James W. Gibson Jr. graduated from Newton High School in 1946. He studied at William Jewell College in Missouri and Mexico City College, were he nurtured a fondness for the Spanish culture. After a tour of military service with the U.S. Marine Corp. he joined an English Shakespearean Travel Group. With his love of travel and theatrics he found a job well suited for him as a tour director for a world renowned travel company. He lived most of his life in Marbella, Spain where he owned a home named Monte Negro. He spent much of his later years in South Brooksville, were he was a long term volunteer for the public library and an active member of the Brooksville United Methodist Congregation. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Gilbert. He is survived by his brother, Richard Gibson. A memorial service is planned June 24, 2006, in South Brooksville.
