UPPER ARLINGTON, Ohio James W. Nelson, 89, a former resident of Lin-coln and Hobe Sound, Fla., died Friday, March 28, 2008, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. He was born Jan. 20, 1919, in East Millinocket, son of George William and Ethel (Della) Nelson. James retired from Great Northern Paper Co., after more than 40 years of service. James was a veteran of World War II U.S. Navy, serving on aircraft carriers and destroyers in the Pacific theatre. He loved to travel with his wife in their RV throughout the country and Mexico. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Glenice (Cobb) Nelson; son and daughter-in-law, Geoffrey Nelson and Ann C. Hall; grandchildren, Sarah Nelson and Zachary Nelson, all of Upper Arlington, Ohio; sisters, Della Morrow of Kittery and Ida Mucha of New Britain, Conn. He was predeceased by three brothers, Basil, Claude and George Nelson. At his request, services will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made, in his memory, to James W.
