TRENTON – James W. Rich, 74, died June 11, 2008, surrounded by his family at a Bar Harbor hospital. He was born Sept. 23, 1933, in Trenton, the son of Thomas and Vesta (Burns) Rich. He worked at the Bar Harbor transfer station for 20 years and was the Trenton animal control officer for many years. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Linda Rich of Trenton; four children, Samantha Urquhart of Florida, William, Kimberly and Michael Rich of Trenton; four stepchildren, John L. Brown, Angelia Clement, both of Florida, Leroy Brown of Trenton and April Whitmore of Gouldsboro; 11 grandchildren, six great-grand-children, many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 16 years, B. Helen Rich; several brothers and sisters. A funeral service will be celebrated noon Saturday, June 14, at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, 215 Main St., Ellsworth, where friends and family may call 11 a.m. until the time of service.
