MILLINOCKET – Janet A. Bryant, 79, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Oct. 22, 2004, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born Aug. 3, 1925, in Millinocket, the daughter of Bertha and Earl Russell. Nana was raised in Millinocket and worked in banking from the Millinocket Trust to the Katahdin Federal Credit Union. The Queen Bee was married to the Monarch for 53 years and loved and enjoyed all of her family. Nana loved to sew, dance, bank, and gallivant with the girls. She had a tremendous amount of spunk and was always there for everyone. Nana is survived by her husband, George Bryant; two siblings, a sister, Neanie and husband, Carl Sawyer; a brother, Rollie and wife, Patricia Russell; and many special nieces and nephews; five children, Fred and Debbie Bryant, Mac and Sheila MacDonald, Stephen MacDonald, Sue and Paul Pray, and Kathy and Ron Kenneson; 19 grandchildren, Teri and Felipe Gomez, Michelle and Jennifer Bryant, Valerie and Dana Odonal, Brian, Alice, Paul, Lorisa and Wendy MacDonald, Julie Pelletier Thorndike, Andy Pelletier, Heather and Michelle Pray, Chris, Amanda Kenneson, Ann Tinkham and Jamey Kenneson. Nana’s 12 great-grand-children are Jordan and Kayla Bryant, Mallory Pelkey, Sydnee Blouin, Kyle, Hayden, Alex, Rachel, Kaylee MacDonald, Chloe Thorndike, Nathan and Annabelle Pelletier; Nana’s special family and friends, Loretta Richter, Gerry Russell, Ora Glidden, Audra Pelletier, Dillon Roach, Polly Hodgkins, Julie Burleigh, Marie Foster, Carol Wedge and Helen Beaulieu. At Nana’s request, there will be no services. Family and friends are invited to a gathering for a celebration of Nana’s life 6-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, upstairs at King Festa’s. Those who wish to remember Nana in a special way may send donations to the Katahdin Area Support Group. Arrangements are under the care of Cremation Services of Maine, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast.
