OLD TOWN – Janet Lacadie, 87, passed away March 14, 2007, at Orono Commons. She was born in Drummond Victoria, New Brunswick, the daughter of Wilbrod and Alice (Michaud) St. Amand. Janet graduated from Old Town High School, Class of 1937, and then she worked in the administration office at the University of Maine. On July 24, 1944, she married Robert Lacadie and together they raised four children. Janet was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and later, Holy Family Parish. She was very involved with the church, as she was responsible for the bookkeeping at several parishes. Janet enjoyed crafts and her Hummel collection. She was predeceased by her parents; husband; and sister, Adelaide King. Janet is survived by her children, Michael Lacadie and his wife, Connie, of Lakewood, Wash., John Lacadie and his wife, Catherine, of Woodbury, Conn., James Lacadie and his wife, Cinda, of Bangor, and Roberta Johnstone and her husband, Russell, of Old Town; brothers, Wilbrod St. Amand Jr. of Oxford, Miss., and Vernon St. Amand and his wife, Norma, of Blumfield Hills, Mich.; grandchildren, Kristina Davis of Tennesee, Christopher Lacadie of Connecticut, Jenny Murphy of Massachusetts, Gregory Lacadie of Orono, Scott Lacadie of Massachusetts, and Bethany Johnstone of Massachusetts; nine great-grandchildren, five nephews and one niece. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, March 19, at Holy Family Parish, Old Town. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon at the parish hall after Mass. Interment will be in the spring. Arrangements are under the care of Birmingham Funeral Home.
