EAST MILLINOCKET – Janice Lessard Waite, 68, passed away peacefully Jan. 31, 2005, after a short battle with cancer. She was born Jan. 21, 1937, in Waterville, to Bernard Lessard and Clarice (Haynes) Lessard Sterling. Janey was an active member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, teaching seminary classes to her children and grandchildren. Her family was her happiness. She enjoyed doing genealogy and was often found helping others with their genealogy library at her Church in Bangor. One of her special hobbies was photography, also making crafts and spending time with her beloved cats. Janey is survived by her eternal companion, Jack G. Waite Sr.; her sons and their families; Jack and Gailene Waite of Auburn, and Alex and Pam Waite of East Millinocket. She will be greatly missed by her 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Janey is also survived by a sister, Mindy Parker of Oakland; a brother, John Sterling and his wife, Debra, of Skowhegan; a beloved brother-in-law, Wally Sheive of Oakland; as well as her dear nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and stepfather, Robert Sterling; a sister, Marlene Sheive; and a son, Joel Waite. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 4, 2005, at R. L. Bouchard Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket. President Keith Arnold will preside at the service.
