BLUE HILL – Margaret J. Hooper, 77, died Jan. 31, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. She was born April 1, 1927, in Orland, the daughter of Oscar and Amelia (Skillings) Ware. Margaret worked at the Blue Hill Memorial Hospital for more than 20 years. She enjoyed camping and spending time with her family. She was a member of the South Blue Hill Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Lewis E. Hooper; three sons, Leonard Hooper and his wife, Mary Ann, Dale Hooper and his wife, Mary, Carlton Hooper and his wife, Ellen, all of North Blue Hill; a daughter, Belinda Pert and husband, Steve, of Sedgwick; grandchildren, Shawn, Melissa, Becky, Dale Jr., Samantha and Tami Hooper, and Chris and Nicole Pert; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Jordan, Sage and Kayden; two sisters, Phyllis Monterose and Eleanor Durwind, both of Oakland, Conn. She was predeceased by Edith Emerton, a dear friend who was like a sister to her, Annie Emerton, who raised her after her mothers passing and became her second mother; and a great-grandson, Benjamin. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, at Mountain View Cemetery, Blue Hill with Pastor Bill Fewell officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions in Margaret’s memory may be made to the South Blue Hill Baptist Church, P O Box 613, Blue Hill, ME 04614.
