CARIBOU and LIMESTONE Janita Marie Weatherhead, 59, died April 1, 2005, at Caribou after a brief illness. She was born March 25, 1946, at St. Francis, the daughter of Romeo and Maria (Jandreau) Pelletier. She was a 1964 graduate of Limestone High School and received her associate degree in accounting from Northern Maine Technical College in 1986. Janita was employed as an accountant for McCain Transport for more than 15 years and more recently was employed by the Defense Finance and Accounting Service at Loring. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and taught religious education classes there, as well as attending St. Louis Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Daughters of Isabella. Mrs. Weatherhead was a member of the Caribou Lioness Club and the DFAS Boosters Club. She married her high school sweetheart, Dale Weatherhead, on Dec. 15, 1963. Surviving in addition to her husband of more than 41 years, Dale, of Caribou, are her three daughters; Ethel Kinney and her husband, John, and Debra and Dale St. Peter and Lynn and Tim Greenier, all of Caribou, her son, Steven Weatherhead of Brookline, Mass., four sisters; Mrs. Reno (Annabelle) Deschaine of Belgrade, Mrs. Joe (Pauline) Frazier of Falling Waters. W.Va., Mrs. Robert (Irma) Emond of Swansea, Mass., and Sandra Rose of Fullerton, Calif.; three brothers, Clifford Pelletier and Galen Pelletier, both of Limestone and Elmer Pelletier of Sidney; many nieces, nephews, godchildren; and special friends including Nancy Pelletier, Rena Leighton, Jane Griffeth, Shirley Griffeth, and Vickie St. Peter. Mrs. Weatherhead will be sadly missed by her six grandchildren, Derick and Daniel St. Peter, Erin and Lucas Kinney, and Sarae and Halle Greenier. Meme’s angels were very dear to her heart. She was predeceased by her parents, Romeo and Marie Pelletier; a brother, Merle Pelletier; and two nephews, Steven and Chad Pelletier. Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Monday at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at the St. Louis Catholic Church with Fr. Jean-Paul Labrie, officiating. Interment will be in St. Louis Cemetery. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Mrs. Weatherhead may do so through the American Cancer Society.
