WOODLAND – Jasper Louis Cote, 94, died Oct. 14, 2003, at his Woodland residence. He was born May 24, 1909, in Caswell, the son of Louis and Idella (Walton) Cote. Mr. Cote was a retired farmer and potato grower, having farmed in the Woodland area for many years. He was a member of the Carson Pentecostal Country Church. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Melvin and Shirley Cote and Lue and Merleen Cote, all of Waterbury, Conn.; three daughters, Dolores Cote of Waterbury, Conn., Erlene Cheviot of New Sweden and Lula Johnston of Woodland; three brothers, Freeman Cote of Caribou, John Cote of Stafford Springs Conn. and Louis Cote of Monson, Mass.; three sisters, Helen Doody of Caribou, Betty Robertson of Murray, Ky., and Jeannie Cunningham of Houston, Texas; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Mr. Cote was predeceased by his wife, Willa (Thompson) Cote in 1997; one son, George; one daughter, Mona; three sisters, Lucy, Gertrude and Ella; and three brothers, Preston, Raymond and Irvin. Friends may call 3-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St. Caribou. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday Oct. 17, 2003, from the chapel of the Mockler Funeral Home with the Rev. John Palmer officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.
