CHARLESTON – Jay T. Parker, 50, husband of Mary E. (Phillips) Parker, died unexpectedly, Oct. 28, 2003, at his home in Charleston. He was born March 9, 1953, in Fort Worth, Texas, the son of Julius C. and Mildred B. (Harnden) Parker. Jay served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a devoted and loving husband, son, father and grandfather, who enjoyed family gatherings. He was an avid outdoorsman who especially liked to hunt and fish and he enjoyed playing the guitar. Surviving, in addition to his wife of Charleston, are four children, Mikki Laswell, David Parker, Tracy Parker, all of Texas and Keith Parker, of Charleston; three grandchildren, Brandon Vang of Charleston, Kersten and Lacey Laswell, both of Texas; seven sisters, LeeAnn Daigle of Costigan, Kathi Morrissey of Texas, Debbie Donelan of Holden, SueEllen Dority of Bangor, Tammy Bailey of Florida, Minya Lynch of Milford and Pamela Parker of Texas; four brothers, Darryl Parker of Winterport, Scott Harndon of Hudson, Steve Gomm of Orrington and Cliff Gomm of Carmel; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Amy C. Parker in Feb. 2003 and by a grandson, Caleb in May 1998. A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, at the Neighborhood Church, 263 Texas Ave., Bangor, with Pastor Brian Haggerty, officiating.
