YARMOUTH – Mrs. Langford passed away Oct. 18, 2005, in Yarmouth, after a long battle with cancer. She was born Sept. 11, 1936, in Fort Fairfield, a daughter of Leslie and Alda Condon Clark. She was educated in the Fort Fairfield schools and graduated from Fort Fairfield High School in 1954. For many years she worked as a travel agent in Portland and then with her late husband at Langford and Low, Inc. She retired in 1985 and later spent several months a year, with her husband in St. Petersburg, Fla. On Feb. 12, 1972, she married William J. Langford and their two families joined. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and was very proud of their accomplishments. Predeceasing her was her husband of 29 years, William Langford; and seven brothers, Earl, Philip, Raymond, Wendell, Clayton, Clifton and Galen and her parents. She is survived by seven children, Eleanor Donavan and her husband, Michael, of St. Johnsbury, Vt., Edward Langford and his wife, Susie, of Falmouth, James Langford and his wife, Molly, of South Portland, Carla Maguire and her husband, Robert, of Yarmouth, Colin Beckwith and his wife, Silvana, of El Salvador, Kathryn Englehart and her husband, Keith, of Benton, Karen Millard and her husband and Robert, of Cornish; five sisters and their husbands, Allison and Altie Oakes of Forestville, Conn., Sarah and Whit Stevens of Caribou, Clarice Kapraun of Baltimore, Md., Sandra and Jon Durepo of Fort Fairfield; three brothers and their spouses, Reginald and Flora Clark of Hemit, Calif., Delmar and Brenda Clark of Blaine and Vaughn and Lynn Clark of Winslow; many nieces and nephews, several great- nieces and great-nephews. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, Jamie, Patrick, Jeremy, Jason, Michelle, Tanner, Christopher, Lauren, Jessica, Haley, Britt, Jonathan, Andrew, Cullen, Ellen, Kendal and Drego. Visiting hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at the Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Rd., South Portland. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
