FORT PIERCE, FLA. – Harlan F. Goodwin, 80, died Oct. 13, 2005, at home. He was born Feb. 13, 1925, in Bangor, the son of Virgil Goodwin and Carlotta (Flanders) Goodwin. He served in the Navy in World War II, aboard the USS Phoenix in the seventh fleet. He graduated from the University of Maine in 1949, with a degree in mechanical engineering. He worked at the Nashua Corporation, Dennison Manufacturing and GAF in positions of division and general management. Mr. Goodwin is survived by his wife, Ellen (Hughes) Goodwin; and their three sons, Carl Goodwin and his wife, Denise, of Shaftsbury, Vt., John Goodwin of Los Angeles, Calif. and Mark Goodwin and his wife, Valerie, of West Richland, Wash.; he is also survived by his sister, Pauline Gray of Orono; and his three grandchildren, Ashley Shadrin, and her husband, Ryan Shadrin, of Arlington, Vt., Adam Goodwin of Pasadena, Calif. and Jack Goodwin of West Richland, Wash. Friends and family will gather 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21 to celebrate the life of Harlan Goodwin at Harriman Pond in Dedham.
