JONESPORT – Jean M. Parnell, 76, of Jonesport, died Thursday, March 30, 2006, at an Ellsworth nursing home. She was born in Jonesport, June 16, 1929, the daughter of Charles McCollum and Marion (Davis) Mason. Mrs. Parnell attended local schools in Jonesport. As a young adult, she moved to Lynn, Mass. for many years moving back to Jonesport in 1995. She is survived by a daughter, Linda Kelley of Bangor; a sister, Betty Black of Jonesport; a brother, Kirby McCollum and his wife, Marilyn, of Leonardtown, Md.; and a sister-in-law, Ann McCollum of Jonesport; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and an uncle. She was predeceased by her husband, James Parnell; her parents; a brother, Robert McCollum; and a twin sister, Joan Lawrence. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2006, in Greenwood Cemetery, Jonesport, with the Rev. George Woodward, officiating. The family requests that there be no visiting hours and the flowers please be omitted. If desired, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are by the Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home of Machias.
