DUBOIS FORT KENT – Jeannette (Raymond) DuBois, 86, died Friday, July 20, 2007, surrounded by her loving family in Fort Kent. She was born June 11, 1921, in Fort Kent, the daughter of Alphonse and Modeste (Dumond) Raymond. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne, Fort Kent. Jeannette graduated from Madawaska Training School and taught at the Franklin School for two years prior to beginning her lifelong career as a mother to 11 children. Our mom was a women extraordinaire. A woman filled with faith who allowed God to guide her and walk beside her through her entire life. She was a loving, devoted and caring mother, who always placed the needs of her children before her own. Her undying optimism and determination to live every day to the fullest was an inspiration to all who knew her. Never did she complain during the many medical procedures she had to endure in the last few years. Always with a smile on her face and ready with her quick wit, she was more concerned about the needs of those around her than those for herself. She is survived by 10 children, Arlene and Frank Daigle, Linda and Wilfred “Bea” Pelletier, Norma and Andre Landry, all of Fort Kent, Rena Mae and Alain Cloutier of Caron Brook, New Brunswick, Norman and Mary Jane DuBois, James and Leola DuBois, Dana and Vicki DuBois, Ronald and Theresa DuBois, and Pauline and James Charette, all of Millinocket; and a most special, wonderful son, Donald of Fort Kent. She is also survived by her 26 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, all of whom were the light in her eyes. She is also survived by her siblings, Isabelle Nadeau and Lucille Raymond of Biddeford, Theresa Raymond of Cannan, Rena Adams of Madison, Augustin Raymond of Kenduskeag, and Bert Raymond and Cecile Theriault of Fort Kent. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Norman; a son, Clarence; a grandson, Scott; and by five siblings, Romeo, Phillimone, Rene, Roger and Albert “Ben.” Friends may call 9 a.m. until the time of service Monday at Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Committal services will be after at the parish cemetery.
