FALLS CHURCH, Va. – Jeffery Bryan Chisholm, 49, passed away peacefully shortly after 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, 2006, at George Washington University Hospital, Washington D.C. Mr. Chisholm was born and raised in Rockland, the third son of Dr. Robert and Regina Antoinette Fabiszak Chisholm. Mr. Chisholm was a long-time resident of the Washington D.C. area, who made his home in Lake Barcroft, Falls Church, Va., for many years. Most recently, Jeffery was a teacher at Accotink Academy, Springfield, Va., for nearly a decade, teaching developmentally challenged youth life skills and the need for academic enrichment. Jeffery was a popular teacher with students and faculty alike. “He was a fixture at Accotink,” said Julie Oaks, the school’s admissions director. “He really taught these children how to respect each other.” He was a resident prefect at Georgetown University Preparatory School, Rockville, Md., from 1984 to 1987, a director of international students and resident activities at St. John’s Preparatory School, Collegeville, Minn., from 1987 to 1989, and a special education teacher at Medomak Valley High School and the Union Middle School from 1989 to 1992. Jeffery was active in numerous charitable and volunteer organizations in northern Virginia, including the ARC of Northern Virginia, Knights of Columbus, the Civil War Round Table, Early Childhood Development Programs and the Maine State Society of Washington D.C. He was a three-sport varsity athlete, and Boy’s State delegate graduating from Rockland District High school in 1975. Jeffery’s high school yearbook indicated playing basketball for Coach Bob Brown was his fondest memory. He graduated from St. Michael’s College, Burlington, Vt., in 1979, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in business admini-stration. Jeffery pursued graduate education in theology at St. John’s University, Collegeville, Minn., and Early Childhood and Special Education programs at The George Mason University of Fairfax, Va. Mr. Chisholm always enjoyed spending time on or near the water whether vacationing with family and friends on the coast of Maine, at the beaches of Maryland and Delaware or close to his home on Lake Barcroft, Va. Jeffery loved to travel, to meet new people, and see new things, both domestically and throughout Europe. Jeffery loved re-uniting with his large and now dispersed family, during the holidays, especially Christmas, which he loved. Jeffery Chisholm is survived by five brothers, David of Rockland, Peter and his wife, Dominica, of Danvers, Mass., Stephen of Washington, D.C., Matthew and Mark, both of New York City; his uncle, John of Danvers, Mass., and numerous cousins throughout New England, including, Ann and her husband, Joe Woitkowski, of Beverly, Mass., Donald Chisholm of Boothbay and Patrick Chisholm of Portland.
