BANGOR, ISPWICH and GLOUCESTER, MASS. – Jessie R. Cochrane died peacefully Sunday, Oct. 2, 2005. Jessie worked for the past four years as a cashier at Shaw’s of Ipswich. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, Old Town and Ascension Memorial Episcopal Church, Ipswich, where she was a choir member. She loved to sing and was a member of the Chorus of the North Shore, Arcadia Chorale Society and the Mt. Desert Island Summer Chorale. She was also an active member of the Heard Chapter of Eastern Star in Ipswich. A graduate of Husson College, she attended the University of Texas, Austin and Bangor Theological Seminary. She was an Associate of the Society of St. Margaret, Boston. She used her woodworking skills to create the Stations of the Cross for St. Margaret’s Convent, Episcopal. She is survived by Jan Matter, her partner of 21 years; a daughter, Esther (Cindy) Hojohn of Norridgewock; a son, Charles Cochrane of Deer Isle; three stepdaughters, Rosemary Hamblen of Franklin, May Kirsh of Reading, Penn, and Nannette Rudolph of Laurens, S.C.; numerous grandchildren, step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Richard Cochrane and her cousin, Rick Gilbert, both of Bangor. There are no visiting hours. Her funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 10 in the Ascension Memorial Church, County Street, Ipswich.
