SURRY – Joan E. Morse, 69, died unexpectedly Jan. 31, 2008, at her residence. She was born Sept. 11, 1938, in Blue Hill, the daughter of Sidney Moon and Ester Irene Young. Joan had a very gentle soul. She was always loving, giving and always helping others; whether she knew them forever, or a while or just met them that day. It might be with food, clothing, money, hugs, smiles or an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on and always a loving voice to talk to. Her love really shined in her beautiful wedding cakes, her cooking, our 4th of July’s, our loving fun and warm Christmas’ or just a visit at their home. She was a member of Surry Women’s Auxiliary Community Center for 3o years. She was a proud member of Surry Arbutus Grange No. 450 for many years. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Howard Morse of Surry; children, Wade, Dawn, Allan and wife, Becky, Cathy and husband, Russell, Keith and wife, Melody, Melissa and fianc?, Steve Woodworth; 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; sister, Jean Moon and husband, Wayne, nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be sadly missed by many friends. She was predeceased by her parents; sister, June; grandson, Rusty; special cousin, Rodney; son-in-law, Lawrence; Uncle Ken; Aunt Liz; and special friend, Evelyn Ryder. Calling hours will be 3-5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, where a funeral service will be held 5 p.m. Contributions to assist the family may be sent to Howard Morse, P.O.
