BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. – Joan Ellingwood, 74, of Bonita Springs, Fla., passed away Thursday, March 24, 2005, after a courageous and inspiring struggle with cancer. She was born Sept. 18, 1930, in Bangor. Joan lived for more than 30 years in Wappingers Falls, N.Y., prior to moving to Bonita Springs eight years ago. She leaves her husband of 48 years, Richard Eric Ellingwood; a daughter, Jane Ellingwood, of Bethel, Conn.; a son, David Ellingwood, his wife, Carol; and grandchildren, Rebecca and Kevin, of Virginia Beach, Va. She is survived by two brothers and their wives, Raymond and Alberta Washburn of Orrington, and John and Lois Washburn of Hooksett, N.H.; two sisters-in-law, Sylvia and Donna Washburn, of Bangor, who were married to the late Kenneth and James Washburn; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and June Ellingwood of Frankfort.
