VAN BUREN – Joan J. Corbin, 56, died April 7, 2005 in Van Buren after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born July 22, 1948, in Van Buren, the daughter of Louis and Alice (Caron) Chasse. In addition to her mother of Van Buren, Joan is survived by her husband, Sylvio Corbin of Van Buren; one son, Michael Corbin and his wife, Nicole, of Grand Falls, N.B., Canada; one daughter, Lisa Sirois and her husband, Jean-Paul, of Van Buren; three brothers, Leo Paul Chasse of Portland, James Chasse and Ronald Chasse, both of Van Buren; eight sisters, Linda Ouellette of Cyr Plantation, Shirley Ouellette of Duluth, Minn.; Dorothy Ouellette, Diane Ouellette, Barbara Thibodeau, and Susan Lavoie, all of Van Buren; Betty Morin of Madawaska, Nancy Tardif of Caribou; five grandchildren, Sara Sirois, Jessica Sirois, Nathan Sirois, Melissa Sirois and Ashley Corbin; one great granddaughter, Mackenzie Dionne. Relatives and friends may call at the Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until time of service on Monday. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at the St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Grande Riviere Cemetery, later this spring.
