PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. – Joan P. Calderwood, 72, died Feb. 23, 2006, at Tidewell Hospice and Palliative Care in Port Charlotte, Fla. She was born June 1, 1933, in Putnam, Conn. and came to Florida in 2002 from Belfast. She worked as a business and medical receptionist, retiring in 1991. She attended the Punta Gorda First United Methodist Church, Florida. Survivors include her husband, William of Port Charlotte, Fla.; daughter, Susan Smith of Punta Gorda, Fla.; and sons, Steven of Searsport, James of Thurmont, Md. and David Larochelle of Searsport. She had five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 18, at the First Baptist Church, 95 High St., Belfast. Services were also held in Florida. Arrangements were by ICS Cremation Society, Inc., Harbour Heights, Fla.
