EDMUNDS – Joanne Leslie (Beal) Tate, 65, died April 25, 2008, at her home. She was born April 1, 1943, the daughter of Clarence and Barbara (Rosebrook) Beal. She was born and raised on Great Cranberry Island. She was a creative, loving woman who loved to sew, knit and crochet. She was especially well known for her lifetime love of her birds. She was always surrounded by caring friends. She will be sadly missed by her surviving family; her children, Camryn Hall of Fort Rucker, Ala., Leslie Mark of York, Stephanie Walsh of Benton, Matthew Tate of Phoenix and Tiffany Tate of Islesford; two sisters, Caryll Moore of South Portland and Donna Alley of Northport; five grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends. She was predeceased by her parents. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, May 10, at Lifespring Chapel Church of God, Route 1, East Machias, with Pastor Doug and Diane Watermolen officiating. A graveside service will be held on Cranberry Island at a later date. Arrangements are in care of McClure Family Funeral Services, Lubec.
