PALM COAST, Fla. – Johanna C. A. Frederik, 86, died Sunday, June 24, 2007, at Grand Oaks Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Frederik was born in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. She moved to this area 33 years ago from Wellesley, Mass. She was the co-founder of The Flagler County Humane Society and served on the board of directors for The Flagler County Humane Society. Johanna was also a member of the Flagler County Yacht Club. She devoted her life and passion to the welfare of all animals and the preservation of the environment. Johanna was a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her son, Willem Frederik of Hermon; her daughter, Hanneke Jevons of Palm Coast, Fla.; stepdaughter, Joke Frederik-Free of Rosemalen, The Netherlands; grandchildren, Adam Frederik of Bangor, and 1st Lt. Joshua Frederik of Arnold Air Force Base, Tenn. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 29, at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 156 Florida Park Drive, Palm Coast, Fla. Memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Frederik’s name to The Flagler County Humane Society, 1 Shelter Drive, Palm Coast, FL 32137. The family of Mrs. Frederik entrusted the arrangements to Clymer Funeral Home & Cremations.
