BREWER – John A. Brimmer, 90, husband of Lucille (Dougherty) Brimmer, died April 21, 2005, at his home in Brewer. He was born July 19, 1914, in Brewer, the son of George H. and Rosanna (McCaw) Brimmer. John was a 1932 graduate of Brewer High School. He worked at Thurston and Kingsbury for 20 years and at R.B. Dunning & Co. for nearly 30 years. John was a communicant of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Brewer, where he was active in various aspects of church life. He was also a member of the Brewer Knights of Columbus, Council No. 6728 and the Fourth Degree Assembly. Surviving in addition to his wife of Brewer, are three children, G. David Brimmer and his wife, JoAnn, of Portland, John C. Brimmer and his wife, Sharon, of Penn Run, Pa. and Russell J. Brimmer and his wife, Sharon, of Portland; 10 grandchildren, Michele, Burke, Michael, Kimberly, Kristan, Kandace, Karyl, Nathan, Jeremy and Melody; nine great-grandchildren, one sister, Anna L. Wood of Broadview, N.M. He was predeceased by his first wife, Bernice (Russell) Brimmer; one brother, Robert Brimmer; and one sister, Helen Baldwin. Friends may visit 3-6 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2005, at Kiley Funeral Home, 69 State St., Brewer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Brewer, with the Rev. Joel R. Cyr, pastor, celebrant. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Veazie.
