SOUTHINGTON, Conn. John A. “Jack” Mongillo, 60, of 180 West Center St., died Friday Feb. 9, 2007. He was the husband of Janet (Grant) Mongillo. He was born June 12, 1946, in New Britain, Conn., the son of the late John B. and Antoinette (Carbone) Mongillo. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was employed by Hoke Manufacturing, Berlin, Conn., and was the former owner and operator of Mongillo Interior Services. He loved fishing, the New York Yankees, and being in Maine and Florida. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two loving daughters, Lori Mongillo of Southington, Conn., and Marci and her husband, Brandon Clevenger, of Wake Forest, N.C.; a sister, Judi Loopstok of Southington, Conn.; grandchildren, Erika Sokolowski and Brodie Clevenger; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Milford and Jeanette Grant of Searsport; several cousins, special aunts; and his buddy, Lexi. He was predeceased by his buddy, Bailey; and his brother-in-law, Hubert Loopstok. The funeral will be held 9:15 a.m. Friday at DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 North Main St., Southington, Conn., to St. Aloysius Church 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
