ETNA – John David Graves, 64, died Sunday, May 28, 2006, at a Bangor hospital. He was born May 21, 1942, in Pittsfield, a son of John and Flora (Connors) Graves. He graduated from Newport High School and served for a time on the Newport Police Department. He was a self-employed woodsman for many years and a member of the National Rifle Association. He is survived by his mother of Etna; two daughters, Heather Graves of Newport and Heidi Gagnon of Philadelphia, N.Y.; two brothers, Samuel Graves of Bangor and Steven Graves of Etna; four grandchildren, Anthony and Ashley Nichols, Christopher and Megan Gagnon. There will be no visiting hours. A graveside funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, June 1, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Etna, with Pastor Ken Graves officiating.
