BAILEYVILLE – John E. Murray III, 66, died unexpectedly March 31, 2004, at a Calais hospital. He was born July 22, 1937, in Danforth, the son of John E. Murray Jr. and Lillian Murray. He graduated from Danforth High School in 1955 and joined the Air Force in July of that year. He served 20 years in the military, including the Air National Guard. He worked at the GP mill in Baileyville as electrical supervisor and also in Plattsburg, N.Y. He was a member of the Spednic Club in Baileyville and VFW in Plattsburg, N.Y. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Harriette Brown Murray; two sons, John and wife, Bea, Aaron and Bridget of Plantation 21; two daughters, Pam Murray of Walnut Cove, N.C., and Sue and her husband, Jim Nedela, of Belews Creek, N.C.; three grandchildren, Jennifer Fullerton of Bangor, Jacob Murray of Bangor, Caci Nedela of Belews Creek, N.C.; two sisters, Sherry Pratt and husband, Blaine, of Weston and Betty McGuire of Reading, Pa. He leaves his special brothers and sister-in-laws and many nieces, nephews and cousins; one uncle, George Lilley of Linneus and wife, Dola; and also a special friend, Jerry Crosby. He was predeceased by his parents; and two brothers, Robert and Bruce. There will be a graveside service 2 p.m. Sunday at the Plantation 21 Cemetery in Princeton.
