BREWER – John F. O’Donnell, 60, husband of the late Frankie Lola (Grant) O’Don-nell, passed away Nov. 27, 2007, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Oct. 5, 1947, in Bangor, the son of Paul “Mike” F. and Edna F. (Hall) O’Donnell. John was a graduate of Hampden Academy, Class of 1966 and a 1970 graduate of Husson College with a Bachelors of Science degree in business administration. John was a U.S. Army veteran and served one tour in Vietnam. He worked as a sales representative for Bangor Merrifield and for Advanced Data Systems – Tyler Corporation, as a computer technician. John enjoyed model airplanes, collecting Lionel trains, spoiling his grandchildren and playing a joke or teasing someone. John was an avid hockey fan. He spent many hours traveling around the state watching youth hockey with his sons as a devoted hockey dad. John will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. John is survived by his two sons, Aaron Patrick O’Donnell and his wife, Lynette, of Bangor, and Christopher John O’Donnell and fianc?e, Amanda Mingo, of Holden; four beloved grandchildren, the apples of his eyes, Brittney and Cody Chapman, and Brooke Lola and Emily Kay O’Donnell; two sisters, Toby Corbett and husband, Alfred, of Bangor, and Patty Pare` and husband, Ed, of Hancock; and a very special mother-in-law, Christine “Tina” Grant of Winter Haven, Fla.; brother-in-law, Peter Grant and wife, Anita, of Lakeland, Fla.; sister-in-law, Sharon E. Coffin and husband, Charles, of Winter Haven, Fla.; many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews, as well as many special friends, too numerous to mention. John is also survived by his faithful cat and dog, Toni and Sadie. John was predeceased by his parents, his loving wife of 32 years, Frankie, in 2004; and a sister, Mary Bishop, in 2006. Visiting hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Vaillancourt, pastor of St. Matthews Catholic Church, Hampden, officiating. Interment will be at the conclusion of the funeral service at Oak Hill Cemetery, Winterport. Memorial donations in John’s memory may be made to Brewer Youth Hockey League, P.O.
