SEARSPORT – John H. Mohr, 81, died Oct. 15, 2007, of Parkinson’s di-sease. Born in 1926, in Bronx, N.Y., he was the son of John Mohr and Edith (Ward) Mohr. He served in the Air Navy, El Centro, Calif., at the end of World War II. He graduated from Fortum University and retired as an electrical engineer. He got his flying license in New York and flew into many of the New England states. He loved motorcycling with his wife. He loved trap shooting and belonged to a gun club in New York. After his retirement in the 1960s, he moved to Maine and enjoyed many trips, especially in the Moosehead region and traveled to Florida and lived there for a few winters until he became ill. Through the years he loved and cared for many cats, lastly his cat, Misty. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Rebecca Andrews Mohr; brother, Edward Mohr of Belfast; mother-in-law, Abbie Sennett of Searsport; brother-in-law, Florian M. Andrews Jr. of Searsport; brother-in-law, Robert E. Andrews and wife, Dorothy, of Bangor. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast, with Pastor Arlin Larson of First Congregational Church, Searsport, officiating. Immediately after the service, there will be a time of gathering and refreshments at First Congregational Church, Searsport.
