HARBORSIDE – John J. “Chip” Howard Jr., 48, of Harborside, died June 25, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Sept. 26, 1956, in Newton, Mass., the son of John J. Sr., and Donelda (MacKay) Howard. John graduated from Newton High School in 1974 and graduated from Massachusetts Bay Community College with an associate’s degree with high honors. John worked for the city of Newton for 14 years. He also was a volunteer police officer for the city during those years. He graduated from the Daytona Motorcycle Mechanics School and was trained in computer service drafting, CAD. John was assistant postmaster for the village of Harborside for several years. He loved motorcycles, listening to music and watching movies. He enjoyed computers and creative writing. He is survived by his father, John J. Howard Sr. of Harborside; a sister, Gail J. Howard of Oceanside, Calif.; and many cousins. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, July 2, 2005, at Jordan-Fernald, 141 South St., Blue Hill. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Cape Rosier.
