VAN BUREN – John P. Madore Jr. died unexpectedly Aug. 16, 2005, at a Biddeford hospital. He was born Dec. 17, 1941, in Van Buren, the son of John P. and Mildred (Thibodeau) Madore Sr. John was educated in local schools, received his bachelors degree from the University of Maine at Fort Kent, and earned his masters degree in education administration from the University of Southern Maine. He was employed by the S.A.D. No. 24 for more than 30 years. He was an Army veteran. He was also a member and past king lion of the Van Buren Lions Club, and was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. In addition to his mother of Lewiston, he is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” (St. Peter) Madore of Van Buren; two daughters, Candace Verreault and her husband, Jeff, of Saco, Susan Madore of Los Angeles, Calif.; one son, Peter John Madore of Presque Isle; one grandson, Alan John Verreault; one brother, Jeffrey Madore of Readfield; two sisters, Frances Kramer of Clifton Park, N.Y., and Jean Boeckeler of Camden. John was predeceased by his father in 1997; and by a brother, Alan in 1971. There will be no visiting hours. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, at the St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Maine Veteran’s Cemetery, Caribou.
