PATTEN – John R. Savage, 69, died Nov. 9, 2007, with his family at his side at his home. He was born June 6, 1938, in Portland, the son of John and Eugenia (Tuck) Savage. John was a very devoted family man who enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing, and spent his life working in the woods. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Cora (Willigar) Savage of Patten; four children, Mark Savage of Glenburn, Scott and Kim Savage of Patten, Mary and Vaughn Sleeper of Island Falls and Michael and Pam Savage of Sherman; 17 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Barbara Sharpe of East Grand and Beverly McDon-ough of Tacoma, Wash., Carol Thurlow of Scarborough, Bruce and Anne Savage of Portland, and Bill and Sheila Savage of Dover-Foxcroft. He was predeceased by his parents; and one sister, Marilyn Sutherland. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday at Stetson Memorial United Methodist Church, Patten, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Tae Sung Kang officiating.
