LINCOLN – John T. Ranney, 75, husband of Jeannette (Coffin) Ranney, died June 14, 2006, at a Lincoln hospital. He was born July 10, 1930, in Presque Isle, the son of John Theodore and Evelyn (McKenna) Ranney. John graduated from Mattanawcook Academy. He served with the Air National Guard and was activated to the U.S. Air Force. He retired as a technician manager with Western Union with 36 years of service. He then spent eight years with GTE/Verizon. John was a member of Horeb Lodge No. 93 AF & AM of Lincoln, and in his younger days was active with the Jaycees. In addition to his wife, Jeannette, he is survived by three children and their families, Michael Ranney and his wife, Elissa and their children, Rachel, Jamison and Alexander of Sandown, N.H., Susan Ranney and her sons, Jared and Matthew of Standish and Pamela Ranney and her husband, William Colella, of San Diego, Calif.; two sisters, Barbara Adgate of Bristol Conn. and Joyce Oliver of Lincoln; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 2-3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln. A masonic memorial service will be held 3:30 p.m. Saturday, followed by a graveside service at Lincoln Cemetery, officiated by the Rev. Darrell Joiner.
